fayetteville city center park

HONOR AWARd

The City of Fayetteville retained the consultant to design the new multi-story City Hall along with a 10-acre park that serves as a destination spot for residents and visitors alike. The landscape architects worked closely with the city to locate the building and its orientation and how it is integrated with the proposed park. The building houses the city government offices with easy public access to each department. The upper levels are home to the city manager, mayor and department directors as well as the city council chambers which overlook the park with a large upper-level plaza available for events and a lower-level plaza with access to the park. The client desired a first-class park to serve their new city hall with amenities to include an event lawn, a playground, splash pad/water features, a retention pond, trails, a dog park, an event center (restoration of an existing building), and a brewery.
